How the refill is done

Why does the refrigerant level run low?
The A/C is a sealed circuit, but micro leaks at seals, hoses and joints allow gas to escape gradually. As the charge drops, cooling weakens. If the loss is rapid and pronounced, a leak test should come before any refill.
